The Little Things

I took some pictures of Aiden yesterday and was reminded of something. Take small steps to succeed in your goals.
I watched him pick up these little finger puffs yesterday with such precision. It wasn't graceful by any means. But, he did it. If he dropped a poof he would carefully try to pick it up again until he got it. He didn't get frustrated because if it got too hard he knew I would put one in his mouth for him.

Aiden wasn't afraid or frustrated because he knew I was there and that I would help him when he needed it the most.

Just a small reminder that God is with you, whether your task is small or mighty. He will be there to help you and hold your hand through your trials.

-It is so easy to realize this fact but harder to live it!

Where is your comfort from? Do you comfort yourself with material things? I know we are all guilty of this.
Finding comfort in the Lord is the key. Only He knows how to soothe us. He wraps his loving arms around us and reassures us that things will be alright.

Seek comfort in God

Last night it was brought to my attention by my wonderful husband, that I haven't updated this blog in a while. A bit of guilt swept over me because I knew this and felt bad for this little blog. I started this blog with the purpose of going out of the box with my photography AND to incorporate my spirituality into it.
It was supposed to be more of a "release" blog for me.
I didn't even know anyone was reading this blog until last night when I noticed there were 10 comments.
Wow!

Wow. I have really neglected this blog.
I have been so busy lately with other things that I have forgotten to update this blog.

I pray that I will find time for the things in life that matter.
I know that life gets crazy sometimes and we forget to stop and smell the roses, or look at how cute our child is.
I want to remember how important it is to take the time to do these things. Just breathe in my wonderful life and be grateful for what I have.

I pray that I can discover the things around me. I never want to have tunnel vision. Something as small as a leaf can grab the attention of a child. I want things like that to grab my attention too.
I challenge you to observe the things around you today. Never lose sight of what is important.

As I look at my son's small toy, I am reminded of how the little things in life can make us happy.

Welcome to Captured blessings!
I wanted to create this blog mainly for inspiration. Like many people, I struggle daily with myself, with life and with God. I have the comfort of knowing that my Saviour has a perfect plan for me, even if I may not like it at times :)
So, I wanted to try to capture moments that I may take for granted. As a photographer it is my job to do this, but I don't usually do it in my own life. I need to remember to slow down. Take a deep breath and look around me. God has given me so much. It's time to stop and take it all in.

While my photography here may not be "perfect", that isn't that point. It is imperfectly perfect, just like me.

These are the little things that have caught my eye and force me to give thanks to everything I have.
I challenge you to look around you for the little things that God puts in your path. Then, capture that blessing and post it on your blog.
